Our best selling blend, no shells means less cleanup and more food. Striped sunflowers and peanuts feed birds at the feeder while the millet gets kicked to the ground for ground feeding birds. Designed by Owner Bob Shanman, it is used in all the California stores with slight modifications to attract regional birds. Pound for pound, our No-Mess Blend bird seed offers the best value because you do not pay for uneaten seed waste. The birds eat everything. Try offering No-Mess Blend bird seed in your tube or hopper feeders as a tidy feeding solution.

Hulled Striped Sunflower, Hulled Millet and Peanut hearts.
The old version of No-Mess, it has larger peanuts which are more attractive to Jays and Squirrels. Has the same hulled striped sunflower and hulled millet.

Hulled Striped Sunflower, Hulled Millet and Peanut halves.
Our Deluxe Blend has black oil sunflower, safflower and millet. Black oil sunflower is the best seed calorie/ounce for the birds, which will attract some larger seed-eating birds aswell. This blend has the same feeding strategy as our No-Mess blends, feed at the feeder and on the ground, but the seeds are not shelled.

Black Oil Sunflower, Safflower, and MIllet.
The Supreme Blend is designed to be fed at the feeder, not on the ground like the previous blends (notice it has no millet). With rich seeds such as black oil sunflower and hulled striped sunflower it is easy for the birds to feast on.

During spring it\s fun to feed the babies. Our Torrance Nesting Blend is aimed at that, developed by Owner Bob Shanman when customers were reporting more birds were eating the millet and kicking out the peanuts and some sunflower seed. The millet is much easier for the fledglings to handle. We also add Calcium Carbonate to help bone development in the parents and babies.

Just the sunflower seeds with no shells. Ideal for someone who is feeding over a patio, sidewalk, balcony or other location they want to keep clean. Offering hulled sunflower is also cost efficient because you're not paying for the shells that are not consumed. Designed to be fed at the feeder.

Nyjer® (thistle) attracts finches of all kinds. Its high oil content is an excellent energy source for active birds and is best used in our specially designed finch feeders. Our Nyjer® is always fresh because goldfinches are picky little eaters. Once seed starts to dry out and become stale, finches will turn up their beak for fresher forage. To be fed in a mesh finch feeder, finch feeder or a Nyjer® sock.

A favorite of almost all seed-eating birds, your feathered friends will happily fill up on our Premium Oil Sunflower bird seed. It's a great source of energy for the birds and 99% free of sticks, stems or other foreign matter so your feeders won't clog with debris. Oil sunflower has a high calorie/ounce ratio due to its high fat and protein content and its relatively thin shell. Among seed ingredients, oil sunflower attracts the greatest variety of small and large seed-eating birds. Studies by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology have shown that most birds prefer oil sunflower seeds to both striped sunflower and white proso millet. Fill your feeders with this top-grade fuel, and watch the birds flock.

If you are having squirrel and other pest problems, Safflower may be the solution for you. Many of your favorite birds will enjoy safflower, yet blackbirds, grackles and squirrels typically don't. Safflower can be offered in hopper, platform or tube bird feeders, and it is especially appropriate for window or deck feeders where blackbirds or squirrels may be a problem. Offer safflower gradually, mixing it with the seed blends you currently provide, and over time, you'll end up with a dining spot for all kinds of birds, including House Finches, woodpeckers, nuthatches and chickadees!

Peanuts are a great addition to the choices you offer your backyard birds. They come in a variety of styles including shelled and unshelled and raw and roasted. Peanuts are a high-energy food that attract birds such as woodpeckers, titmice, nuthatches, chickadees and jays. Many of their visits will be to carry peanuts off and cache them for a later meal. Peanuts in the shell are typically used for feeding larger billed birds such as jays. You can also offer peanuts in the shell to your squirrels.
